About
I started the Fokker D.VII file in 1997 as a website on Tripod (now Lycos). I wanted to learn about making websites (in HTML using Netscape Navigator) and was interested in the Fokker D.VII, which I regard the best fighter of the First World War. At that time, there was not much information online.
My main goal is to centralize as much information and imagery as possible about the Fokker D.VII—content that is often scattered across the internet and at risk of disappearing. By collecting it here, I hope to preserve and share this valuable history.
In 2003, Tripod started adding annoying adds to my website, so I started The Aerofile.
Whenever I am on holiday, or when I have the possibility, I try to visit a museum or an airshow. In The Netherlands the last airshow organised by the Dutch Air Force (KLu) was in 2019. Since then, all were cancelled. Besides The Fokker D.VII File, you can find pictures I made at various occasions.
If you have any comments or addition to my site, please feel free to contact me.
Also, when you think that images published here are under copyright by you, please let me know. It is not my intention to illegally publish something.
